5Diesel Exhasut Brake - best on the market
By Sticks
As a diesel mechanic, 97% of my work is on the big three (Dodge, Ford, GM), I have driven vehicles with every type of exhaust brake on the market, and the US Gear D-Celerator (super duty version)is the best out there. It will continue to pull down to 1k RPM, where others usually start to peter out at around 1500.

I have one on my 2002 Dodge 3500 with the 5.9l Cummins ISB, and my service brakes lasted until 78k miles, 80% city driving(could have gotten more, the rear pads de-laminated from the backing plate with near 1/4" of pad left).

The seat of the pants braking power is about the same as moderate braking with the service brakes. I typically don't have to apply the service brakes in non panic/emergency type driving until I reach 5-10mph in second gear.

Driving in the mountains of Colorado, I rarely if ever have to use the service brakes to maintain downhill speeds. Typically I will use the exhaust brake until I am 5mph under the speed limit then release until I am 6mph over, rinse and repeat.

This is a must have if you tow in the mountains.
